This innovative report aims to guide digital investments in support of the COVID-19 vaccination response by highlighting use cases and case studies that illustrate how data and digital health tools can support immunization service delivery. The Primer also focuses on approaches to ensure that digital investments made to address emergency needs outlast the current crisis. It is designed for a general audience, but with an eye towards planners, funders, and implementers looking to utilize digital health tools for pandemic and post-pandemic response. While the Primer was created in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is designed to support thinking around how digital systems and the data they enable can provide support in future health emergencies, in routine immunization programs, and in health system strengthening. The Index helps bring attention to where additional data and/or investment would be most useful prior to launching or scaling an innovation. To illustrate how to apply the Contraceptive Innovation Index, two case studies are included within the report: the hormonal IUD in Nigeria and the Caya diaphragm in Niger. The Contraceptive Innovation Index builds upon CII's Global Health Innovation Index, with adaptations to reflect the complexities and specifics of contraceptive markets. | Contraceptive Innovation Index Photo courtesy of USAID | | | | CII's Amarynth Sichel joins Negev Forum's Inaugural Meeting | | | CII Digital Health Advisor Amarynth Sichel joined a US delegation to the inaugural meeting of the Negev Forum's working groups in Abu Dhabi.
