World leaders at the G20 summit in Bali gathered for an emergency meeting after news broke that a Russian missile had landed inside of Poland and killed two. But there are a lot of questions that remain. Russia quickly explained that they had not fired a missile into Poland, which is what you'd expect Putin and his allies to say. However, as investigations continue, it doesn't seem likely that the missile originated in Russia, even if it was made by Russia. During a press conference, President Biden confirmed this suspicion. "I don't want to say that until we completely investigate. It's unlikely in the minds of the trajectory that it was fired from Russia. But we'll see." So, where did it come from? And now that a member of NATO has been attacked (even if it wasn't on purpose), what will come next following this major escalation? (read more)

The 2022 midterm elections — both in the House and the Senate — did not go as anticipated for numerous Republican candidates running for office, leaving voters wondering how some Democrats survived tough races and avoided the "red wave" expected by many in the GOP. The Republican Party is expected to win a slender majority in the House, but it will be significantly less than many prominent party members and leaders predicted before of the Nov. 8 elections, forecasting a "red wave." However, the GOP's prospects in the Senate do not appear to be promising. So how did Democrats avoid a red wave that looked certain? (read more)

Growth stocks are a class of stock that symbolizes a business with the potential for above-average growth. Growth stocks can provide more significant returns over the long term, but they are often more volatile than other stock classes. Many growing enterprises are still developing and might not yet be profitable. They might therefore carry higher risk than well-known businesses. Growth stocks can offer better returns for investors willing to assume additional risk. Growth stocks are often more expensive than other stock categories, but if the business succeeds, they may provide bigger profits. Growth stocks are, therefore, usually only appropriate for investors with a high-risk tolerance. With this in mind, check out these three hot growth stocks in the stock market this week. A New York City Medical Examiner's Office employee is in hot water after being accused of stealing from the dead. The man, Trevor Rheams, was a driver for the office and transported bodies to the morgue. When he showed up to one person's residence to prepare the body for transport, a cop was on the scene. Though he also arrived on scene with a colleague, he was left alone while preparing the body for a brief time. The police officer that was on scene was wearing an active body camera, and the footage raised a few eyebrows, as something was clearly missing from the residence that was there before Rheams showed up. This is the unexpected item that Rheams is accused of stealing from the dead. (read more) |

Former Vice President Mike Pence has revealed some new information regarding his interactions with former President Donald Trump in the weeks before the insurrection occurred. By doing so, he's recaptured the attention of the Republican party. Pence revealed that he received a phone call from Trump on New Year's Day 2021 and that Trump was trying to pressure him to overturn the election results, to which Pence responded that was not in his power. Trump reportedly told Pence, "You're too honest. Hundreds of thousands are gonna hate your guts. ... People are gonna think you're stupid." Pence also revealed for the first time what happened during Trump's surprisingly sheepish encounter with him a few days after the insurrection happened. (read more) |
