Control of the House is a pretty safe bet for the GOP. But control of the Senate will hinge on four very volatile races. Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania are the "wild card" races that could determine the control of the legislative branch. If we win, we can bring back some sanity to Washington, D.C. But if we lose, we're in for a whole lot more of what we've been suffering through since Biden took office. The margin between candidates in these critical states varies from 0.6% to 2.3%. That means there's not a whole lot of room for error. The "race between Republican JD Vance and Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan in Ohio, incumbent Republican Sen. Marco Rubio and Democratic Rep. Val Demings in Florida, Republican Rep. Ted Budd and Democrat Cheri Beasley in North Carolina, and incumbent Republican Sen. Ron Johnson and Democratic Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes in Wisconsin" is also close. But the margins there are just a bit bigger. Here's what voters in all of these states need to do ahead of November 8th. (read more) | |

Some of President Joe Biden's most important federal agencies are doing more to track and fight "disinformation" on social media platforms. This is happening even though some people say the administration is trying to shut down conservative or opposing views. Missouri and Louisiana are going to court against Biden, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and other high-ranking administration officials. The two states say that these officials "pressured and colluded" with Big Tech social media companies to censor and hide information about the Hunter Biden laptop story, the origins of COVID-19, and the security of casting ballots by mail during the pandemic. Even though the lawsuit is still going on and members of Congress have been very critical, Biden's agencies claim they are still trying to stop foreign enemies from spreading false information about U.S. elections and certain topics. Inflation in August 2022 was up 8.3% over the same month the previous year, which forced the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by a sizable amount. The summer of 2022 was scorching with inflation. As purchasing power declines, retirees who rely on fixed incomes and savings are particularly vulnerable. Inflation may reduce retirement savings for those nearing the end of their careers. Pre-retirees and retirees worry more about the stock market's volatility, making them rethink some of their investments and question if they would outlive their nest eggs. What should seniors and others who are close to retiring do to lessen their concerns about retirement and safeguard against inflation? Here are a few tips. (read more) |

A Texas woman says one of her rental homes that she owns is haunted, but not by the type of ghosts you probably have in mind. Allison Fluke-Ekren from Kansas, who smuggled her children into Syria and became known as the "Empress of ISIS" after leading an all-female death squad, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Her sentencing took place at a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia. Her own children testified against her, calling her a "monster" and revealed that she tortured them for sexual pleasure. Her daughter, Leyla Ekren, was married off to an IS fighter in Syria when she was only 13 years old. "I want people to see what kind of person she was. She abandoned me in Raqqa with my rapist," she said, referring to her IS fighter-husband. "My mother is a monster who enjoys torturing children for sexual pleasure," revealed her son, Gabriel before adding, "She has the blood, pain, and suffering of all of her children on her hands." Fluke-Ekren's now 24-year-old daughter, Alaina, remains missing and could still be in Syria. Her ex-husband James Fluke, with whom she shares children Gabriel and Alaina with, revealed that she consistently taunted him and told him that Alaina was dead. Here's what else he has said regarding his ex-wife and what he hopes happens now. (read more) |
