During Wednesday's weekly Prime Minister's Questions session, Truss reassured Parliament that she was a "fighter, not a quitter." But leading a ruling party is only possible with respect and credibility. Truss increasingly had little of either and quit just a day later. (read more) | |

This announcement follows a lot of political upheavals since she took on the title of Prime Minister. Those upheavals include the resignations of two ministers and a tax plan that sent markets tanking as the country struggled with a 40-year cost of living high, Following her resignation, what comes next for the UK government? A sheriff's deputy in Massachusetts is accused of being attacked by a bee swarm while attempting to serve an eviction notice. On October 12, when Hampden County Sheriff's Department deputies attempted to serve the notice and were greeted by demonstrators outside the Longmeadow, Massachusetts, house, a volatile scenario developed. According to an official department report, Hadley resident Rorie S. Woods, 55, arrived in an SUV pulling a trailer containing beehives. In order to protect herself, Woods put on a beekeeper's gear and began "shaking" the hives. When she took the cover off one, hundreds of bees swarmed out and at first stung a deputy. Woods was eventually arrested but not before several more sheriff's department employees, including three who are allergic to bees, were stung. (read more) |
