Jan 5, 2022 Spin Control Image Source: The Blaze Virginia's exiting governor is blaming his own citizens for a recent winter traffic calamity. Ralph Northam (D) accused motorists for getting stranded on a gridlocked Interstate 95 overnight Monday in sub-freezing conditions with a lack of food and gasoline for hours. "We gave warnings, and people need to pay attention to these warnings, and the less people that are on the highways when these storms hit, the better," said Northam.
Motorists, on the other hand, claimed it was not their fault that Virginia's government failed to plan ahead. For many, the VDOT was badly unprepared for a storm that had been predicted for days by forecasts.
As many pointed out on the internet, that stretch of highway is know for horrible traffic even during ideal weather conditions.
