Well, Good Morning!
Let's take a look at what the day has in store for us.
So, let's dig in, shall we?
Here's What You Need To Know... Can Blinken manage to win back the favor of France after the sub snub? Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit France next week as the Biden administration tries to smooth over hurt feelings and potentially more lasting damage caused by its exclusion of America's oldest ally from a new Indo-Pacific security initiative, the State Department said Friday.
The department said Blinken will visit Paris starting Monday for an international economic conference but highlighted that he will also meet with French officials to discuss the rupture in relations.
This is the latest in the search for Brian Laundrie, who remains missing after girlfriend Gabby Petito's homicide Several days after Gabby Petito's public funeral service, the nation's rapt attention to fugitive Brian Laundrie's whereabouts seems to be waning slightly. He's been "missing" since September 14, according to his parents, but some, including celebrity manhunter Duane Chapman, better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, believe Chris and Roberta Laundrie have been less than forthcoming about where he is. New details are continuing to emerge that paint a more complete picture of what happened before his parents finally reported that he was gone on September 17, two days before his girlfriend's body was discovered in Wyoming.
Apparently the trio went camping together at Fort DeSoto September 6 through September 8. There is evidence Roberta Laundrie had previously had a reservation for two September 1 through September 3. Her son returned home in Petito's fan without Petito on September 1. Some believe the change was made because she knew that her son was returning home.
"What do Laundrie's parents really know?" asked the former deputy director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe. "When you think about essentially taking a weekend camping vacation with your son who just returned back from months on the road camping with his fiancée — and returned without his fiancée — it's almost impossible to imagine that conservations didn't take place between them."
Ex-officer's DNA ends 35-year-old murder hunt For decades, the crimes of a notorious serial killer have haunted the Paris crime squad.
Le Grêlé — the pockmarked man — shocked Paris between 1986 and 1994 with a spree of murders and rapes. Among the heinous crimes attributed to him was the murder of 11-year-old Cécile Bloch. She was reported missing after failing to show up to school in Paris in 1986.
A picture of Le Grêlé has hung for decades on the walls of the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police. Little did they know, they were disturbingly close to the killer all along. A former military police officer is said to have confessed to being Le Grêlé before his death. The DNA from his body seems to prove it.
Le Grêlé's nickname dates back to evidence given at the time of Cécile Bloch's murder. The victim's half-brother, Luc Richard, was among residents who recalled seeing a man with an acne-scarred face on the day of the crime in their apartment building in the 19th district of northern Paris.
The 59-year-old man found dead had been a gendarme before becoming a police officer and later retiring. He was summoned by police to give a DNA sample five days later. His wife reported him missing on September 27; police later found his body along with the suicide note confessing to his crimes.
