👉One Sign the “Wealth Effect” Is in Full Swing👈

It's the monthly jobs numbers today and they're not going to be pretty and will be possibly the tip of the iceberg as we head into May.

Good morning. The last crisis taught the Federal Reserve that as long as people feel like they're getting wealthier, they'll go out and spend. This wealth effect becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy if done right.

So far, the playbook is working this time around. Million-dollar-plus housing listings have spiked higher, showing that home sales growth is still occurring in wealthier markets. For lower-end markets, chances are that there's some wealth being created, but at a lower rate given lower stock market participation and other exposure to rising asset prices. So while the wealth effect works overall, it also creates more wealth inequality… but that's not on the list of the Fed's problems to solve (yet).

Fears of Slowing Growth in the Cloud Space are Overrated

One of the biggest trends of the past few years has been the rise of companies using cloud-based services. That bypasses the need for a company to run its own data centers, and has created some powerhouse firms.

However, in the short-run, fears of slow growth can lead to major selloffs in cloud-based companies, which in turn can spell a long-term entry point for patient buyers.

Like the cold or flu, Covid appears to be here to stay. Some doctors are already suggesting booster shots on an annual basis that could be used to fight against new variants. Ridesharing Firms Drop as California Court Rules on Prop 22

Ridesharing firms such as Lyft (LYFT) and Uber (UBER) dropped on Monday, following a court ruling that California's Prop 22 was unconstitutional. Quote of the Day
With Fed tapering coming while delta variant keeps spreading, the transition away from liquidity/policy regime to more mid-cycle markets means we may experience a bumpier ride ahead. Market narrative may thus turn more cautious, as concerns about peaking growth rates, delta variant and policy mistake may prove headwinds, at a time when seasonality and technicals are unfavorable.
