SUNDAY PREP

with RickyAnalog

Alright everyone, it's that time of the week again. I'm watching the following names:

$AAPL, $AMD, $AMZN, $BA, $BNTX, $CAT, $CROX, $FB, $FCEL, $FEYE, $GEVO, $HOG, $IBM, $INTC, $MSFT, $OSTK, $QCOM, $SHOP, $TER, $TSLA, $TWTR, $UAL, $UPS

Also, Wednesday is the Fed Announcement at 2pm Market Time.

OVERALL MARKET

$ES / $SPY (Daily)

$ES / $SPY as you can see, the 20d has caught up significantly and this big move up is starting to look more and more digested. does that mean we can't go lower? Hell no. But the longer we coil here, the healthier things begin to look. Also, always remain focused on the fact that the 20dma is merely the first real line of defense. You can see numerous times where we needed to probe lower first, to the 50d (and even lower sometimes) before resetting enough to find the next leg up. Personally I will be ready and willing to take both longs and shorts as they present themselves as I feel the market is close to neutral at the moment.

$ES / $SPY (Weekly)

$ES / $SPY weekly helps keep it easier to see that there is still plenty of room to retrace if we decide to. Remember, we don't write the story, we just read it.

$NQ / $QQQ  (Daily)

$NQ / $QQQ never got as far ahead of themselves as the S&P did. In fact, they were playing catchup as we had a few weeks where money rotated out of the tech/momentum names. But it's pretty clear that the money flow has returned and things look healthy. Many of the strongest names and sector leaders look great, and not only that, but many of them report earnings this week. Is the powderkeg about to be lit 🔥? We shall see.

$BTC (Daily)

$BTC is really starting to feel different as it hasn't found the buyers stepping in and saving it at key levels as they have been for so long. Will be monitoring this for opps to short crypto/blockchain names that follow it such as $MARA $RIOT $CAN $SOS $EBON. If $BTC pushes back into the underside of that 20d and starts to find resistance, some of the previously mentioned names may make great fades.

$BTC (Weekly)

If we just continue to head lower first, the first area of interest for a bounce is the weekly 20 SMA.

Market Shift - Breakouts starting to work

Now, want to take a moment to address a shift in the market that I've noticed over the last week. Breakout plays are starting to work and even have 2nd day continuations. What does that mean for me? Well for a very long time we've been seeing breakouts just get stuffed super hard. It made them terrible trades that offered garbage risk:reward. But now that they are starting to work, there are some super sexy setups out there that I have my eyes on where I may try to play very similarly to the way we traded $IBM last week.

Here are the charts from last week that caught my eye.

$DISH

$IBM

$SKX

$EFX

$STX

LONG SETUPS

Strong Stock Continuation

With this being such a big week of earnings reports, the normal Sunday Prep stuff (long/short setups) will be brief, as much of the focus will be on the big names reporting this week. Also, when you get to that section, make sure to remember the IBM trade from last week and how it can apply to some of these upcoming trades.

$MSFT (Daily)

$MSFT Yes, I know they report this week, but the idea here is for a daytrade and possible swing if you can get a strong close with cushion. Really like the 20d/monthly/quarterly all lining up in that $250-$251 area. It will also be a gap fill which may be needed prior to this beast resuming it's rampage.

$IBM (Daily)

$IBM yep, will be watching to scoop this for a long risking against Friday's lows.

$UAL (Weekly)

$UAL is about as sexy as weekly chart can get for a trend join. If this is ever going to go back to where it was pre-pandemic, it will do it from this bigger picture trend that it's forming. This is simply a pullback to the most recent breakout area as well as the trendline. Not to mention it kissed the 20sma on the weekly.

$UAL (Daily)

Also, keep in mind, their earnings came out last week, so that is out of the way.

$UAL (120 Minute)

Zooming in to the 120m chart, you can see that we just triggered the long. Technical target would be the 20d, but would be willing to swing some to see if it has plans of breaking out above the top trendline around $58.

LONG SETUPS

Oversold Reversion

Seller's are exhausted and these names look ripe for long reversals.

$INTC (Daily)

$INTC possibly found a bottom on Friday and would be willing to be a buyer with risk against $58.

$INTC (Weekly)

Weekly chart makes it clear as day why we were looking for those $58 scoops on Friday. Now it's time to see if she holds.

SHORT SETUPS

Weak Stock Continuation

These 2 names are straight from last weeks Prep and it's the same idea as last week for them.

$FCEL (Daily)

$FCEL pop to the 20d and I'm there for the fade.

$GEVO (Daily)

$GEVO pop to the 20d and I'm there for the fade

SHORT SETUPS

Overbought Reversion

$BNTX (Daily)

$BNTX will be stalking for this to either stall out and put in lower highs, or get some further extreme extension for the ability to scale into an exhaustion move.

$HOG (Weekly)

$HOG posted this idea Friday evening in the pro-room. Not sure if this setup happens this week or not, but it's definitely on watch. Notice how the last time it tested this trendline, it ended up giving lower highs on the weekly chart before the uptrend finally gave way and the new leg down began. Not in any hurry to put this on. Will mostly be monitoring to see how it unfolds.

EARNINGS

So here is where we get into the majority of what I'll be watching for this week. These are just the ones where I feel we may have a play. ALWAYS keep in mind that we have zero idea what kind of numbers they will report nor how the market will react to them. So this becomes more of a situation where we make plans for different scenarios. A bunch of "if/then statements" if you will.

Here is the lineup for the week

$TSLA (Weekly)

$TSLA remember this setup triggered a few weeks ago. Will the numbers be the catalyst to get it to the target? Who knows. What I do know is even if they miss, it may just very well be giving us a good entry for this trade. Wouldn't mind a shot at some $600s, especially if you have a swing mindset on the name.

$TSLA (Daily)

On the other hand, if the earnings send this over $780, I would be looking for dips to start to hold and try and join trend. In a perfect world you would like to see dips against $760 get bought up with authority.

Sadly, I'm out of room on this email - my mail provider is yelling at me to make this email shorter.

You'll need to read the rest over in the chatroom. Use the link below to pick up where I left off (active members only of course).

I still need to tell you about $AMD, $TER, $UPS, $CROX $AAPL, $FEYE, $BA, $SHOP, $FB, $QCOM, $CAT, $OSTK, $TWTR, $AMZN...

That's it for my prep!

Phewww, that was a lot. And I know it seems that way, but trust me when I tell you that it's IMPERATIVE for you to all be as prepared as possible for these trades or you'll sit there and miss them all and wonder what happened. Put in the work now, so when the time comes you already know what to do. Last week's Sunday Prep had SOOOOOO many ideas that worked out extremely well. Hoping this week's does as well. See you all bright and early tomorrow. Peace
