| The Biden administration has brokered the release of three Americans by trading them for unidentified Chinese citizens in U.S. custody, according to a White House official. The release of David Swidan, Kai Li and John Leung is the result of years of intensive talks between White House and State Department officials and their Chinese counterparts, said a senior administration official granted anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic negotiations before they're announced.
