Hi there. Guo and over 30 more charged with money laundering


The reckoning: Dismissed mayor Alice Guo, along with her sister Shiela, POGO representative Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, and over 30 other individuals and business entities now face 87 counts of money laundering involving about P7 billion.

VP Sara Duterte's spending of confidential funds constituted a "violation twice over," said lawyer Michael John Yusingco of the Ateneo School of Government. Not only was she not mandated to use such funds, but their use was also limited by COA rules.

Marietta Brawner-Cualing, the sister of AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., is among four new associate justices appointed by President Marcos to the Court of Appeals. The others are Ferdinand Baylon, Mary Josephine Lazaro, and Emilio Rodolfo Legaspi III.


Following the central bank's decision to terminate its P2.1-billion contract with national ID card supplier All Card Inc. over the latter's failure to deliver its obligations under the deal, the company is appealing to the BSP to reconsider its decision.


Pope Francis is 87 and has been plagued by health issues, but he's embarking on the farthest journey of his papacy yet   a grueling 12-day trip to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, and Singapore by next week that involves 43 hours of flight time.
