PH forex reserves near $100-B mark


The Philippines' gross international reserves (GIR) may have picked up again to reach $99.7 billion at the end of July, thanks mainly to the increase in the value of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' (BSP)  cache of gold amid rising prices.

A group of tycoons and Japanese industrial giant Mitsui will launch today a P55 billion buyout offer to minority stockholders of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. with the aim of delisting the infrastructure giant from the Philippine Stock Exchange by early October this year.
