Maine Democratic Governor Janet Mills signed a law on Monday that partially decriminalizes prostitution. Mills and supporters of the new law say it actually protects the state's most vulnerable people. In an article that was released on Monday, former vice president Mike Pence attacked Florida governor Ron DeSantis, claiming that he was "following in the footsteps of the radical left" by fighting with Disney. DeSantis was cited by the former governor of Indiana as an illustration of how Republicans have abandoned free market ideas. Pence claimed that DeSantis put thousands of jobs and billions of dollars' worth of investment at jeopardy by his actions. The governor and Disney have been at odds for the past year. Pence, who formally began his campaign earlier this month, also accused Democrats of abusing their position of authority and the law in order to advance their agenda and punish opponents. A tragic story out of Nebraska is gripping the headlines after a woman became a bride and a widow on the same day. As if that is not tragic enough, it all happened in the same hour. According to a family member who knows the bride and was at the wedding, the woman was "widowed and married in a 10-minute span." Just an hour after the ceremony began, and a short 10 minutes after they said "I do," the happy couple left the altar and went outside to take photos. That's when the unimaginable happened. The groom suddenly collapsed, and according to a witness on scene, "suffered from a medical event that was not survivable." This is what doctors say took the life of the groom so suddenly and unexpectedly. (read more) |
