Following a deadly military helicopter crash on Wednesday afternoon, at least two people have died. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the collision happened on Highway 53 close to the intersection of Burrell Road in Madison County, close to the boundary between Alabama and Tennessee. According to Huntsville Emergency Medical Services' Don Webster, the chopper caught fire immediately after contact. Two people were on the helicopter, and both perished at the scene. The Tennessee National Guard reports that no additional service personnel or citizens were hurt. However, the Tennessee National Guard will cooperate with investigators at the crash site as both federal and state authorities look into the crash. The National Guard said Wednesday night it could not confirm the unit the helicopter was assigned to or provide information on casualties. (read more) |

A Florida man had to jump into action to save his daughter's dog when a bobcat unexpectedly attacked while they were out walking. Paul Broadhurst was walking his daughter's dog named Koda in the Orlando area this past Saturday morning when the attack happened. Broadhurst said they were walking down the sidewalk when a bobcat came from nowhere and just jumped on Koda. Broadhurst immediately tried to pull the bobcat off of Koda, and that was when the bobcat tried to attack him. He said the bobcat "clawed" into his arm and refused to unlatch from Koda. As if the Ohio train wreck isn't enough of an environmental hazard to worry about, residents near Tucson, Arizona, were ordered to evacuate the area after a commercial tanker truck crashed and resulted in dangerous materials leaking onto the interstate. People within a half mile of the crash were told to leave, while those within a mile were told to shelter in place for several hours. The driver of the truck was killed in the crash. The shelter-in-place order has since been lifted, but the Arizona Department of Public Safety said that the residents who were evacuated will remain evacuated for now.
