Well, Good Morning!
Let's take a look at what the day has in store for us.
So, let's dig in, shall we?
Here's What You Need To Know... Gabby Petito's family goes to Wyoming to claim her remains after coroner shares cause of death Yesterday, the family of the slain blogger traveled to Wyoming to claim her remains, not long after the coroner who oversaw her autopsy shared the official cause of death. Gabby Petito, who was 22 years old when she died, was strangled by a human. The case has captured national attention, and many people believe that her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, was the person who killed her. He remains the only person of interest, and is wanted for using her bank card.
After the coroner shared more details surrounding the tragedy, Laurie's family lawyer gave an interview. Steve Bertolino said: "Gabby Petito's death at such a young age is a tragedy. While Brian Laundrie is currently charged with the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby, Brian is only considered a person of interest in relation to Gabby Petito's demise. At this time Brian is still missing and when he is located we will address the pending fraud charge against him."
Beam me up, Bezos: How television's Captain James Tiberius Kirk brought wonder back to the space industry yesterday If you tuned in to yesterday's highly-anticipated Blue Origin launch, then you may have felt some of the giddy excitement that commentators experienced as they watched beloved William Shatner rocket into space. Shatner, now 90, beat out 82-year-old Wally Funk to become the oldest person to travel more than 66 miles above the Earth. Jeff Bezos, who loves Star Trek and even appeared in a franchise movie, invited Shatner to take the free ride in a New Shepard capsule. Bezos was the one who secured the rocket before they launched, and he was there waiting upon their return, ten or so minutes later.
For his part, Shatner seemed deeply moved by the experience: "I hope I never recover from this. I hope that I can maintain what I feel now. I don't want to lose it... Everybody in the world needs to do this. Everybody in the world needs to see. To see the blue color whip by and now you're staring into blackness, that's the thing."
Five people are dead and two more are hurt in a seemingly random bow and arrow attack A 38-year-old Danish man terrorized a town in Norway yesterday, killing five people at random with a bow and arrow. He injured two more with his attacks which spanned a 34-minute timeframe yesterday evening. One of the hospitalized victims included an off-duty police officer.
The trouble began at a supermarket just after 6 p.m., officials say. By 7 p.m. he was arrested. However, he wasn't taken into custody without a fight. He apparently confronted authorities before they fired shots as warnings, reporters say.
One witness described the horrifying situation: "I was sitting and watching Squid Game when I suddenly saw and heard sirens. I thought it was in the TV series. Suddenly I heard the police screaming… 'Put down your weapon.'"
In addition to his bow and arrow, the suspect also had a knife and other weapons at his disposal, authorities say. The mayor of the town, which is home to about 28,000 people, said, "It is a tragedy for all those affected. I have no words. This is a shocking event that we did not think could happen in Norway."
