Well, Good Morning!
Let's take a look at what the day has in store for us.
So, let's dig in, shall we?
Here's What You Need To Know... Why did this country arrest and detain a robot? Ai-Da is the world's first ultra-realistic robot artist. She has cameras in her eyes, which allow her to draw and paint — creating works of art that many say are as good as the works of human artists. However, Ai-Da's latest exhibition hit a major roadblock when she was detained by Egyptian security forces.
Traveling to the Great Pyramid of Giza for her opening last week, Ai-Da was held up in customs by border agents that took issue with both her modem and the cameras in her eyes. "I can ditch the modems, but I can't really gouge her eyes out," said Ai-Da's creator, Aidan Meller. Luckily, she and her sculpture were both cleared before the exhibition began on Thursday — but not until after Meller had to prove she isn't a spy.
Florida Governor DeSantis is welcoming unvaccinated cops to relocate to the Sunshine State with a $5,000 signing bonus Police officers who have lost their jobs as a result of their refusal to get the coronavirus vaccine will soon have an opportunity to relocate to the Sunshine State, as the governor there is offering $5,000 signing bonuses, along with a pretty big promise: "We will treat you better." Officers across the nation who are reluctant to get the jab have been faced with the difficult decision of either getting the shot or getting fired. Many have left their positions, ultimately leading to a shortage of officers. In Seattle, for instance, the police force lost 500 members.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has required everyone working for the city to get fully vaccinated, and the president of the Police Benevolent Association has said he is ready to go to court over it. Pat Lynch said that while all city employees should have access to the shot should they want it, it needs to remain a personal choice. He argues the decision should involve the individual's doctor, and not be a prerequisite for keeping their jobs.
But DeSantis wants to bring on those men and women, to fill the state's needs for more officers.
"If you're not being treated well, we will treat you better here," he said. "You can fill important needs for us, and we will compensate you as a result. Our policy is very clear. We're going to have a special session, and we're going to say, nobody should lose their job based off these injections. It's a choice you can make. But we want to make sure we're protecting your jobs and your livelihoods."
What is Biden keeping secret in the JFK files? President Biden again delayed the release of the JFK files, which hold thousands of secrets that could shed light on the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy. This is after a delay from President Trump in 2017.
Public opinion polls show that most Americans don't believe the official story surrounding the assassination of JFK, which is that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only operative responsible. A special House committee in 1978 concluded "on the basis of the evidence available to it, that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy."
However, most experts agree that the files aren't going to make a massive impact on the case itself. For example, a leading researcher on the case says that former CIA Director Allen Dulles did not orchestrate the murder, which is a popular conspiracy theory. What experts do think is that the government is hiding information that could reveal a shadowy network of spies who may have been involved in the assassination plot.
Portions of more than 15,000 records that have been released remain blacked out, in some cases a single word but in others nearly the entire document, according to the National Archives. Some could reveal more about the events leading up to the assassination itself. For example, researchers are keenly interested in the personnel file of the late George Joannides, a career CIA intelligence operative who staffers on the House investigation in the late 1970s believe lied to Congress.
