Soup for you

Brothy beans, rice and dill, creamy tomato soup and more recipes for late January.

Soup for You

It may be "January" according to the Gregorian calendar, but everyone knows that this time of year should be referred to only as High Soup Season. Do you have recipes to mark the occasion? Consider adding a few to your lineup, like Naz Deravian's white bean, rice and dill soup (above), as delicious as it is economical, or Eric Kim's quick tomato soup with grilled cheese, a real two-for-one deal. If you prefer to ward off the winter scaries with something a bit more bright or bracing, try Yasmin Fahr's citrus skillet shrimp with shallots and jalapeños or Melissa Clark's lemony brussels sprouts Caesar salad. You'll find those and more dishes to cook this weekend in our collection of the most popular New York Times Cooking recipes of the week.
