A central Florida man plotted odd revenge on his apartment complex's homeowners association (HOA) by setting his apartment on fire intentionally. According to law enforcement officials, Marc Hermann was upset with HOA officials who managed the property. The HOA was in the process of foreclosing on Hermann's home due to thousands of dollars of unpaid HOA dues. After his home was auctioned off for $82,000, Hermann decided to light it on fire. Witnesses say a loud explosion was heard prior to seeing flames. Hermann later said he set the fire to get revenge on the HOA.
But when emergency crews arrived on scene, Hermann was injured, and not by the explosion. Here's what happened and what he blamed it on. (read more) |

Thirty-year-old Joseph Austin Smith of Wichita, Kansas, was killed on Saturday in a freak hunting accident. The tragedy occurred after Smith's dog accidentally discharged the gun while they were inside Smith's pickup truck. According to police, Smith was sitting in the front passenger seat of the vehicle when his dog stepped on the rifle in the back seat.
