Source: Mastercard Economics Institute 🛍️ Using figures from 2019 and 2022, a report from Mastercard has determined that 5 percent of total global weekend spending at department stores has shifted into the weekday. 🛍️ Specifically, department store sales on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays have increased by as much as 1.4 percent, while sales from Saturdays and Sundays have decreased by as much as 2.9 percent. 🛍️ With flexible work schedules blurring the lines between home and work, the concept of the "weekend" is starting early. Days designated for certain types of purchases have shifted, with people transacting all seven days.
