The world's greatest Air Force celebrates 75 years. On August 1, 1907, the United States (U.S.) strengthened its military dominance by creating the Aeronautical Division of the U.S. Signal Corps. The U.S. government put this new division in charge of military ballooning and air machines. On September 18, 1947, the division was established as its branch of the military and became the U.S. Air Force (USAF). And throughout history, USAF has proven that the sky was never the limit. | | | The Caregiver Support Program (CSP) is honored to commemorate the USAF's 75th anniversary. We are grateful for all American Airmen called to "Innovate, Accelerate, and Thrive" and defend air, space and cyberspace through skill and bravery. In celebration of USAF's 75th anniversary, CSP would like to recognize our USAF Veterans. We can't thank you enough for your sacrifices for our country and your dedication to service. We also thank our caregivers of USAF Veterans. Because of you, our Veterans receive care with dignity, respect, and compassion. In celebration of USAF's 75th anniversary, we invite you to visit USAF's 75th-anniversary webpage. We also encourage you to visit VA's VA News site, using the keyword "Air Force." There, you'll find stories of Veterans like John Henebry, who flew 219 successful combat missions, Tom Skerritt, who helped found a nonprofit for Veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Merryl Tengesdal, who became a U-2 Dragon Lady pilot. We thank all of our USAF Veterans for making our Air Force the greatest in the world. Happy 75th anniversary to the United States Air Force! With respect and honor,
Colleen M. Richardson, Psy.D Executive Director, Caregiver Support Program
