Image source Canva Currently, about a dozen states are debating proposals for sending tax rebate checks to their residents. The effort has been inspired by a desire to help offset the highest inflation our nation has seen in over four decades. And for once, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are pointing to the same problems and proposing a unified solution.
Is your state one of them?

Fifty-year-old Yolanda N'Gaojia had been grieving the death of her son when she was shot and killed, officials say.
N'Gaojia's son would have turned 22 on Tuesday, and N'Gaojia wanted to visit his grave to honor his "first birthday in heaven."
The incident occurred in the evening at Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery in Texas.
Another person evidently sustained a gunshot wound.
"I have now words because I can't believe this is real," said the woman's ex-husband. "This is stuff you see [in] movies but it has become our life. I can't believe you are gone."

Image source : Canva The year 2022 has been unkind to investors. This is especially true for high-growth technology stock investors. The Nasdaq 100 Index is down over 10% as we approach the end of March. It might plummet if the economy enters a recession due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and rising interest rates.
If you're a long-term investor, there's no need to worry, but if you're uncomfortable with seeing your portfolio drop 40% or more in a short period (as many high-growth investors are right now), now could be the time to reconsider what stocks you want to acquire. In particular, diversification and a look at some value stocks that may be less volatile in a downturn could be beneficial.
Here are 2 stocks that should pique your interest.

Image source: Canva A father is creating quite the stir on social media thanks to the punishment he gave his daughter for missing her curfew.
The entire ordeal started when the dad asked his 17-year-old daughter to drive her grandparents back home after their visit. He instructed her to drive straight back home after dropping them off and to be back no later than 10 pm.
But as time began to tick by past 10 pm, there was no sign of the daughter. Her father and mother began to worry as it became later and later in the night.
After not being able to get in touch with her for hours, the teen finally showed back up at home at 1:25 the next morning. The dad noted that his daughter tried her best to sneak in quietly and unannounced, but of course, he was there to catch her red-handed.
As it turns out, the teen decided to visit her boyfriend after she dropped her grandparents off at their house.
And while most people online agree a punishment was in order for the teen's stunt, it's what the dad decided on as her punishment that has the internet in an uproar.

Image source : Canva According to neuroscience, one of the seven secrets to happiness is taking time to enjoy happy foods (and beverages) that make you feel better for the long haul.
But what does that even mean?
As it turns out, the right foods can elevate moods, boost energy, and calm anxiousness and stress. Obviously, those are also ingredients for a happier life.
