It's the monthly jobs numbers today and they're not going to be pretty and will be possibly the tip of the iceberg as we head into May.

Good morning. Treasury cash levels dropped from a peak of $1.8 trillion back in February to under $60 billion earlier this month ahead of the debt ceiling debate. With the passage of a debt ceiling increase, the Treasury is looking to refill its coffers, with as much as $480 billion.

To raise the cash, the Treasury will be selling more T-bills, which could start to weigh on the bond market, pushing up yields in the process. As we've seen throughout the year, rising Treasury yields can cause the market to stall. So while all eyes are on the Fed to cause the next market volatility, this time around it may be the Treasury.

This insider has been a buyer back in August with multiple buys back at a lower price than where shares trade today. Another major holder has also been a buyer over the past few months, with insiders picking up over 200,000 shares in that timeframe.

Unusual Options Activity: Lumen Technologies (LUMN)
Shares of telecommunications company Lumen Technologies (LUMN) have risen about in-line with the overall market in the past year, but shares have been trending down in recent months. One trader sees the downtrend in shares continuing.

That's based on the December $12 puts. With 60 days until expiration, 5,020 contracts traded hands, a 35-fold rise in volume from the prior open interest of 142. The buyer of the puts paid $0.73.

A recent survey shows that 40 percent of US households face financial difficulties over a year and a half since the start of the pandemic. 30 percent of households say their situation is worse, and nearly one in five report that the pandemic depleted their savings. For those earning under $50,000 per year, the number is as high as 60 percent.
Deere Workers Go on Strike

About 10,000 workers have gone on strike against John Deere & Company (DE). The strike comes after the United Auto Workers union representing the workers had reached a tentative agreement on a six-year contract before about 90 percent of members rejected the deal and a new one couldn't be reached.

Fast food giant McDonald's (MCD) has announced that some of its plant-based Beyond Beef burgers, dubbed McPlant burgers, will be available in eight select locations next month. The early-stage rollout could lead to further expansion in the months ahead.

Cryptocurrency brokerage firm Coinbase (COIN) has called upon Congress to create a cryptocurrency czar tasked with overseeing the industry. That could help cut through the current regulatory uncertainty, as Congress has yet to even establish a definition of what a digital asset even is within the framework of existing regulation.
Virgin Galactic Delays Commercial Spaceflights to Q4 2022

Space tourism company Virgin Galactic (SPCE) has announced that it is delaying the start of its commercial space tourism company into the 4th quarter of 2022. That will allow the company time to refurbish and improve its carrier craft now, at a cost of delaying the next spaceflight.
