New year, new book!

Hello, readers,

Happy New Year! I hope you are all recovering well from whatever Covid-safe revelry you managed to put together. Today is a good day for writing down lists, setting goals, and thinking sober thoughts about what you want your (hopefully soon-to-be-unquarantined) future to look like.

Personally, I hope that future includes some reading! It's what we are all here for, after all.

This month, the Vox Book Club will turn our attention to Harrow the Ninth, which features some of the best use of the always tricky second-person point of view I've come across. I can't wait to talk with you about it.

COMING UP THIS MONTH

Friday, January 15, 2021: Discussion post on Harrow the Ninth

Thursday, January 28, 2021: Our live Zoom event for both books will be at noon Eastern. RSVP now to join us for a moderated conversation with the author, including audience Q&A.

the week in books at vox

I have spent this holiday week frantically moving apartments (it may surprise you to learn I've accumulated a lot of books that need to be packed), so I have no new posts for you today. But if you are looking for a book to read to start your January off well, I will direct you to my list of the best books of 2020, and hope you find something there that suits you.

Congratulations on making it through 2020. We'll face 2021 together, books in hand.
