A boy missing from Washington state since at least mid-June was found safe in Missouri. Authorities said 8-year-old Breadson John had vanished by June 17, when a welfare check at his home in Vancouver, Washington, determined his absence. The FBI previously stated there were "concerns for his welfare" within the neighborhood, and Vancouver police investigators sent to check on Breadson could not locate him. Vancouver police said in December that family members detectives contacted had not provided information about Breadson's whereabouts. According to the FBI, with the assistance of sheriff's deputies, Breadson was located unharmed on Friday in Jasper County, Missouri. What he was doing there and how he got there were unclear. Phebe Maxwell found her father, Thomas Maxwell, unresponsive due to cardiac arrest and immediately called 911. She and another person in the house began CPR with chest compressions. "His chest was going up and down and he was making noises, so his lungs were working," Maxwell explained. But when medics arrived, they checked for a pulse and declared him dead. When Maxwell said that her father was still breathing and making noises, the medics responded that it was just his body releasing gasses, and they left.
