Despite being a self-proclaimed "sanctuary city," Chicago's Mayor Lightfoot hasn't exactly rolled out the welcome wagon. And what's particularly interesting is that even though the entire Cook County region is a "sanctuary county," the migrants arriving aren't allowed to stick around there, either. Instead, they're being hauled off to neighboring Burr Ridge in DuPage County. At the moment, whether that county is a sanctuary county or not remains unclear. But what is clear is the absolute hypocrisy being shown by all of the regions that suddenly find buses of migrants headed their way. Because that's exactly what border counties and towns have been up against all along. Most of them with a lot less funding and resources at their disposal. "I'm the mayor of the village, I should have been told. I'm as frustrated as Mayor Lightfoot was in her not being told," Mayor Gary Grasso said. "I'm frustrated but we're dealing with the situation and I'm going to keep my residents and my businesses apprised." How is Texas's Governor Abbott responding to all of these "frustrations?" Texas woman Jessica Vega was arrested for attempted kidnapping after she approached a shopping cart in a San Antonio Walmart, pushed a woman's oldest daughter's hands off the handle, and started walking away with a 4-year-old child sitting in the cart seat.
