Remembering everyone today

This is really important to me

Hey There,

I know today is a really hard day for a lot of folks in America and around the world.

And especially with all the news of the last few months, it seems like unbelievable timing that we've somehow hit the 20th anniversary of September 11th.

Everyone who was alive back then (which I assume is most of you reading this) remembers exactly where he or she was when they got the news.

And for some folks (I don't know if this includes any of you), they lost loved ones on that tragic day.

It was horrible.

But what we saw afterward, with soldiers and police officers and firefighters rushing in, risking and sometimes losing their lives to help…

And even with everyday people and families who traveled to New York or did what they could in their communities…

We saw America come together in a way that feels almost foreign today.

Back then, we were all united as one nation, helping each other get through one of the most horrible tragedies we've ever experienced.

I hope that we can one day get back to that spirit of unity again.

The years since have been hard for so many people who have sacrificed so much.

Families who sent soldiers overseas, some of whom never came home.

I can only imagine their sacrifice, but I know we are all so thankful for it.

And I know there are folks at home who gave a lot of their time or even their money to help as well.

I admire people who donate huge sums to places like Folds of Honor or the Wounded Warrior Project, because they have the financial flexibility to do so.

That's one of the virtues I hope all traders learn to cultivate.

It's been a hard few years for us, and in 20 years, America has changed a lot.

But I hope that we can all strive together to try and be a little kinder, care a little more about each other, and remember that there's a lot more that unites us than divides us.

I hope that wherever you are and however you were affected by those tragic events 20 years ago, you're doing well today and are able to take time to remember all those who gave so much.

Markay
