Morning! This is Kristen Wong from Sports Illustrated, back from vacation. Is there any greater feeling than plopping down on your couch after work and watching playoff basketball? Maybe the first sip of a crisp, ice-cold shower beer, or finding out years later that your ex isn’t doing too hot. But in most cases, the NBA is king. Let’s get into last night’s action.
Forward this to your age-gap friend who bawled their eyes out after the Hacks season finale. We love you forever, Ava Daniels and Deborah Vance.

We’re chronically online so that you don’t have to be. Here’s what we immediately clicked on …
WEMBY CAUGHT IN 4K: This new camera angle of Wembanyama sharing a discreet message to the Spurs’ subs just felt unethical. Morals aside, it seemed to catch the San Antonio star telling Mason Plumlee and Bismack Biyombo, “Hard fouls,” at the end of their Game 5 loss to the Thunder. That’s not very monk-like of you, Wemby.
RIP HARAMBE: As some of you may know, Thursday marked the 10-year anniversary of Harambe’s death. And Pablo Torre, being Pablo Torre, did another of his deep investigations to find out exactly what went down on that tragic day. He really, truly gets to the bottom of it. Warning: the graphic video is not for the faint of heart.
THOU SHALL WIN IN FOUR: Desperate times call for divine measures. One Knicks fan sought Pope Leo’s blessing ahead of the team’s NBA Finals run and animatedly yelled “GO KNICKS” several times as the Pope drove by the Vatican. In response, the Pope—a Chicago native and Villanova alum!—smiled and gave a thumbs up. The vibes of the Nova Knicks have never been better. Knicks in four—we didn’t say it, God did.

📺 What we’re watching tonight ... |
|
|
|
NBA:
Saturday, May 30
Spurs @ Thunder—8 p.m. ET; NBC/Peacock
Game 7 in Oklahoma City. The winner plays the Knicks in the NBA Finals. Enough said.
WNBA:
Saturday, May 30
Fever @ Fire—8 p.m. ET; CBS
A probably healthy Caitlin Clark and the Fever will face off against a Portland team that’s been enjoying a solid start to its inaugural season.
Soccer:
Saturday, May 30
PSG @ Arsenal—12 p.m. ET; CBS
The Champions League final, held in Budapest this year, pits the tournament’s reigning champs against the newly minted Premier League title winners. Can Arsenal cap off their historic season with another piece of silverware and be crowned the kings of Europe for the first time in club history? Or will a stacked PSG side successfully defend their maiden title and bring pride and glory to France ahead of the World Cup?
Tennis:
French Open—all day, all weekend
With Jannik Sinner knocked out, the men’s side of the tournament has been broken wide open. On the women’s side, American Coco Gauff has more than a fighting chance to defend her title at Roland Garros; she and tournament favorite Aryna Sabalenka will face off against their respective opponents in the third round on Saturday.
That’s a wrap for today. See ya Sunday!
