NBA Playoffs:
Cleveland Cavaliers @ New York Knicks—8 p.m. ET; ESPN
The Cavaliers blew Game 1 after being cursed by a wrestler. The Knicks made an improbable comeback in front of Paul Atreides and a bunch of former players. The thing about the result of the first game of the series is that you have to watch the entire game, no matter how big of a lead one of the teams has. You’ll have to rewatch Dune and Dune 2 during the offseason.
Stanley Cup Playoffs:
Montreal Canadiens @ Carolina Huricanes—8 p.m. ET; TNT, truTV, HBO Max
The Canadiens haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1993, but they were in the final as recently as 2020. The Hurricanes, who had the second most points in the standings in the NHL this season, won the Stanley Cup in 2006. The Hartford Whalers never played in a Stanley Cup, but they live on forever in Mallrats.
That’s all for today. Keep an eye out for any other crazy storylines to grace the sports world today.
