A North Carolina BBQ joint is defending its business practices after a woman accused them of serving her undercooked pork. According to the woman, who ordered takeout, she checked her plate to discover that her BBQ was pink. Staff members tried to explain that the BBQ was smoked, and that pork turns pink when smoked, even when fully cooked. The woman refused to believe staff members and insisted she was served undercooked food. And that's when she decided to call the police on the restaurant. A class-action lawsuit was filed against Twitter after the company told employees that around 3,700 jobs (half of the Twitter workforce) would be cut. The lawsuit states that employees were not given enough of a notice about the massive layoffs and that it violates federal and California law. This is just the latest shake up that Elon Musk has caused since becoming the new CEO of Twitter. On Friday, employees discovered they were locked out of their email accounts and the company's Slack page, as well as physically barred from entering the office. "We filed this lawsuit tonight in an attempt to make sure that employees are aware that they should not sign away their rights and that they have an avenue for pursuing their rights," said Shannon Liss-Riordan, the attorney who filed the lawsuit. As Elon Musk reveals his plans for the workers he decided to keep, it remains to be said if they got the better end of the deal than the employees who were brutally kicked to the curb. (read more) |
