FOUL TROUBLE: Caitlin Clark picked up her seventh technical of the season in a Fever-Sun game on Wednesday and is now on the brink of an automatic suspension. The circumstances in which Clark received the tech were soft, to say the least. The Fever star was seen having a testy exchange with Sun guard Saniya Rivers during which Clark appeared to tell Rivers to look at the scoreboard (Indiana was up 95-67 at the time). C’mon, refs, what are we doing here? … LIV Golf could soon take another turn for the worse, according to one of the league’s players. … Bryson DeChambeau finally opened up about his controversial two-shot penalty at the British Open. … Charlie Woods saw his U.S. Junior Amateur run come to a bitter end after he got distracted by a fan’s camera shutter sound on his final hole. Probably should have silenced that, dude. … LSU football coach Lane Kiffin admitted what he would’ve handled differently about his tumultuous Ole Miss exit.
BELIEVE: Here’s everything we know so far about Season 4 of Ted Lasso, set to premiere on Apple TV on Aug. 5. For a brief refresher, the ever-lovable Jason Sudeikis will be coaching AFC Richmond’s women’s football team, the Lady Greyhounds. … The Ravens waived quarterback Diego Pavia ahead of training camp. Where else could the Vanderbilt product land this summer? … Bryce Young and Jalen Hurts crack the list of five quarterbacks with the most at stake heading into the 2026 season. These top edge rushers could give them some trouble. … The Red Sox miraculously put together a 15-game win streak that was snapped by the Orioles on Wednesday. It was Boston’s first loss since July 1. The last time the Red Sox won 15 straight was in 1946 when Ted Williams helped the team clinch the AL pennant and reach the World Series. BELIEVE.
BRON WATCH: It’s Day 23 of LeDecision. Our rations are slowly dwindling, and it’s hard to say whether we’ll last the summer. We still don’t know where he’ll go, and neither does his son Bronny. “Nobody knows right now except LeBron,” said a source close to James, via The Athletic. “And I’m not even sure LeBron knows.” Cool, cool, cool, cool. That Heat presser blunder might be the only tantalizing bit of bait we get for a while.

PLAYIN’ FOR KEEPS: All those new American soccer fans have since migrated from the World Cup to… the MLS. And it’s not pretty out here. In Bundesliga legend Robert Lewandowski’s MLS debut for the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night, Lewa faced none other than Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami (the Argentinian is taking a 21-day break after his grueling World Cup slate), and the team in pink wasted no time showing soccer fans how it’s done. How an absolutely horrendous own goal is done, that is. A Miami defender played a slow ball to his goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo, who tried to pass it first-time but unfortunately swung and missed the ball completely. Watch that regrettable moment from Novo unfold for yourself. Thankfully, notorious biter Luis Suarez bagged a brace to save Ríos Novo from more misery in Miami’s 3-2 win.
LONG MAY JALEN REIGN: Make way for our sweet prince. During a rainy day in NYC, Knicks star Jalen Brunson was seen walking to his car in a plain black T-shirt and pants, and nearby fans instinctively held out their umbrellas to shield Brunson from the drizzle as he crossed the sidewalk. Careful, he’s a hero.
GET THESE BEGGARS OUTTA HERE: I haven’t seen The Odyssey yet. The current chances of getting an IMAX 70mm ticket at Lincoln Square are about as high as running into Tom Holland and Zendaya on the street. But for those who have, enjoy this viral Robert Pattinson meme that made the long trek to the NFL world. And the golf world. There are other great non-sports-related memes of him, too.

2026 All-Star Game—8:30 p.m. ET; ABC
So glad WNBA Twitter is being so very normal right now. Not like anyone has any hot and wildly controversial takes at the moment. In the meantime, Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers and more stars will face off in a fun, competitive and hopefully drama-free game at United Center in Chicago. The WNBA All-Star Skills Night, which includes the 3-Point Contest and Shooting Stars, will take place on Friday, July 24 at Wintrust Arena.
Welp, we got nothing else. No more World Cup. No NFL or NBA. No tennis, no golf. Your usual MLB games, we guess. Go outside, touch some grass, read a book, plan a picnic, cook a new recipe, call your mom, reply to that friend you’ve been meaning to text back for several weeks—the possibilities are endless. We’ll be back Monday.
