My Mouse Finger Is Twitching…But I’m Not Clicking “Buy” Yet

I'll freely admit it - I'm somebody who is addicted to clicking the mouse. I love it.

But this Russell 2000 setup is forcing me to sit on my hands, and it's driving me crazy.

Here's the thing: IWM's daily chart looks absolutely phenomenal right now. Beautiful. Clean. Everything screaming "BUY ME NOW." And my finger is twitching over that mouse button.

But I'm not clicking.

You know why?

Because I've been burned too many times chasing patterns that looked great but hadn't proven themselves yet. And right now, we're sitting on what I call "the shelf" - that critical support level that decides whether this thing rips to 270 or pukes back to 240.

Man, this is torture for someone like me.

Apple's getting its butt handed to it. Amazon looks toppy as can be. Netflix is falling off a cliff - I mean, that thing is just crazy heavy. Microsoft, Google, Meta - they're all rolling over.

But if we can hold 257 on it, I think it has a chance to bounce.

That's where my mouse-clicking addiction pays off. I'll be all over this thing faster than you can say "small cap rotation."

The problem is patience. God, I hate waiting. Every green candle makes me think I'm missing it. Every red candle makes me want to bottom-tick it. But this choppy market has taught me one thing - snipers beat cowboys every time.

Here's what keeps me disciplined: I remember all those times I chased something that looked great, only to watch it roll over the next day. The Russell will either prove itself by holding this level, or it'll break and give me a better entry down at the lows.

Either way, I win.

Your Action Plan

If the Russell holds 257, I'm looking for a quick move to 270. If it breaks 257, I'm stepping aside and watching for a retest around 240. THAT'S where I want to buy - after all the weak hands are flushed out.

Either way, I win. Hold 257 and I ride the bounce. Break 257 and I get my entry 17 points cheaper with all the selling done.

Until then, I'm sitting here staring at this beautiful daily chart, fighting every instinct to click that mouse.

Sometimes the hardest trade is the one you don't make.

But when the Russell finally makes its move - either direction - I'll be ready.

And my mouse finger will thank me.
