Hi there. House 'flood' probe may hound its own members

The House is pushing through with the probe despited reservations expressed by some lawmakers who see conflict of interest in a body potentially uncovering the dealings of its own members.

Surprise: President Marcos issued a conciliatory statement to mark Ninoy Aquino Day, without making reference to the political upheavals triggered by the killing of his father's arch-foe.

Dysfunctional transport systems

My commute to school has been challenging since we lost the point-to-point (P2P) bus that ran from One Ayala to UP Town Center. It provided an economical and comfortable ride for many people in the south who had to make their way north to Ateneo, Miriam, and University of the Philippines (UP).

When 'eat less, move more' stops working

Have you noticed it's harder to lose weight—especially belly fat—as you age, even while sticking to the same workouts and diets that used to work? Is it just a plateau? Maybe not. At midlife (40s to 60s), your hormones, especially cortisol, play a bigger role on whether "eat less, move more" works or fails.
