Hi there. DPWH exec who tried to bribe lawmaker suspended


Batangas First District Engineer Abelardo Calo is accused of attempting to bribe Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste with "a little more than P3 million" to stop probes into infrastructure irregularities.


Sen. Ping Lacson said the bribery attempt on a lawmaker by a DPWH engineer shows that the agency's officials have become "bagmen" and "legmen" of powerful, influential contractors. 


The arrest of a businessman who allegedly passed himself off as a Filipino and even got appointed to the PH Coast Guard has raised Sen. Risa Hontiveros' suspicion: Is he another Alice Guo?
