Hi there. US approves $5.5-B sale of 20 F-16 jets to PH

The "proposed sale" would, among others, enhance the PH Air Force's ability "to conduct maritime domain awareness and air support missions," amid a new escalation of rhetoric between Manila and Beijing.

"Those playing with fire will perish by it." China made the warning after AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. ordered PH forces in northern Luzon to prepare for the possibility of the invasion of Taiwan.

Brooklyn-based author Nicholas Kaufmann says he has been "absolutely flooded" by diehard Duterte supporters on social media who have mistaken him for the ex-president's ICC counsel, Nicholas Kaufman.

Fifteen Filipino billionaires made it to Forbes Magazine's list of the world's richest people for 2025, with a combined wealth of $53.7 billion, up 9 percent from 2024. On top? Manuel Villar, with $17.2 billion.

A "cleansing ritual." The looming trial of Duterte "will be a crucial occasion for our country to mend our people's heavily damaged sense of right and wrong," writes ICC-accredited lawyer Joel Ruiz Butuyan in Opinion.

Asaytono finally among "PBA's greatest'

Of all the players added to the list of the Philippine Basketball Association's greatest stars, no one's wait was more puzzling than Nelson Asaytono. "There is no doubt that he is deserving," former league commissioner Sonny Barrios, who chairs the selection committee tasked to add 10 more names to bring the number of members in the PBA Greatest list to 50 in line with the league's golden anniversary.
