Mammoth cry for peace -- or political flexing? The Iglesia Ni Cristo mustered a crowd of nearly 2 million for its peace rally at the Quirino Grandstand on Monday—ostensibly to back President Marcos' call not to impeach VP Sara Duterte.

Who qualifies as a "nuisance" candidate? For the Supreme Court, lack of funds for a nationwide campaign does not automatically make one a nuisance candidate, junking the Comelec's decision on a 2022 presidential aspirant's candidacy.

Lower retail prices of imported rice seen


The government may cut the maximum suggested retail price (SRP) for imported rice if the "sharp decline" in global prices would continue, an agriculture official said on Monday. Department of Agriculture (DA) Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa said that the global market had seen a drop in rice prices in the first 10 trading days of 2025.
