Eight Senate Democrats say they will vote Friday to advance the Laken Riley Act, enough to open debate on the GOP-written bill requiring the detention of some undocumented immigrants.

It's a signal of shifting sentiments inside the Democratic Party on immigration and border concerns following the 2024 election.
