The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) National Standards Group (NSG), on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), would like to share a podcast episode now streaming, "Streamlining Health Care: The Essentials of Administrative Simplification. The podcast episode features conversations on Administrative Simplification and its impact on health care system burdens. NSG Director, Michael Cimmino explains how the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) relates to Administrative Simplification, what NSG is doing to address administrative burdens, and what the development process for electronic health care transaction standards entails.

The full episode is available on the WEDI website as well as the following streaming platforms:

This episode is part one of a two-part podcast conversation between host Michael McNutt and NSG Director Michael Cimmino, as well as members of the NSG team. An episode on the enforcement of Administrative Simplification standards will be coming soon.
