In the two-day period that followed the Jan. 6 chaos at the Capitol, U.S. Secret Service officials deleted many of the texts that had been sent and received. And the inspector general for DHS says that those deletions happened after his office asked for access. The chief of communications at the Secret Service wasn't happy about the insinuation. "The insinuation that the Secret Service maliciously deleted text messages following a request is false," Guglielmi said in a statement. "In fact, the Secret Service has been fully cooperating with the OIG in every respect – whether it be interviews, documents, emails, or texts." How was this discovery made, and what might have been inside those texts? (read more) |

When an administration struggles so hard, it's natural to ask how much hands-on experience top officials has. And in the case of the Biden administration, it's become clear that it's virtually none, at least not when it comes to actual business experience. The folks at Committee to Unleash Prosperity wanted to know if it just seemed that way, or if they really had zero experience. And what they found was shocking. Out of the top 68 officials in the Biden administration, very few have any personal work experience or any business experience. Joe Biden is having a rough time in Israel right now. First, he insults our ally by making a verbal gaffe about the Holocaust. Now, he's telling creepy stories about nurses rubbing him while he was having surgery years ago. The latter comments came as he was making remarks during a visit to Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem. He was trying to talk about how hospital workers are so important, but his personal anecdote just came across as really weird. Biden's handlers have their hands full. (read more) |

The stock market is having a challenging year, which is no secret. Particularly heavily hit was the technology sector, with the Nasdaq-100 index suffering a loss of 27% in 2022, clearly establishing a bear market. One of the reasons for the downturn is strong inflation, which is swiftly raising interest rates and causing investors to reevaluate their growth forecasts for high-flying IT businesses. What if inflation has reached its peak? The Consumer Price Index (CPI) has reached a 40-year high, but it's a lagging indicator, and the recent decline in the prices of numerous essential commodities may take some time for the CPI data to reflect. This might lead to interest rate expectations cooling off, which could reignite investors' appetite for high-growth stocks in the second half of 2022. So here are two heavily beaten-down opportunities that could deliver immense rewards for investors with room for some risk in their portfolios. (read more) |

Police in Arizona are having to remind locals not to harass the tourists that visit their area. In a recent Facebook post, law enforcement officials explained that it had come to their attention that "some people visiting our town on short visits and using lawful short term parking passes are being yelled at or having notes left on their cars by local residents." People who observe locals harassing tourists were urged to contact police so they could investigate and potentially press charges. "Yelling at, or leaving notes, could in some cases constitute harassment under Arizona Revised Statutes," law enforcement officials explained. So, which Arizona destination is causing such a stir with locals? (read more) |
