On Thursday, a South Carolina lawyer accused of killing his wife and son on the family's remote hunting estate was charged in their murders. The lawyer contributed money to President Joe Biden's 2020 campaign. According to federal election records, Alex Murdaugh, 54, gave Biden's campaign a maximum of $2,800 in April 2020, a few weeks after the Democrat won the South Carolina primary. Murdaugh allegedly shot his wife Maggie and son Paul to death in June 2021, according to the prosecution. But Murdaugh is not the only well-known Democratic Party supporter to have had legal issues recently. (read more) |

Over the years, reinvesting dividends has produced tremendous returns. From 1993 to 2018, the S&P 500's annual average return, including dividend reinvestment, stood at 9.7%, compared with a 7.5% return excluding dividends. Dividend stocks saw a difficult time during the pandemic when some of the significant dividend-paying companies were forced to trim their payouts in the face of financial instability. However, after the pandemic, many companies have returned to their healthy state, awarding shareholders solid dividends and stock buybacks. According to Goldman Sachs, the value of buybacks among the S&P 500 is expected to reach $1 trillion in 2022, up 12% from 2021. Since the beginning of 2022, global financial markets suffered their worst, with the US S&P 500 concluding its worst first half since 1970.

The father of Elon Musk, 76-year-old Errol Musk, has revealed that he had a secret love child with his 35-year-old stepdaughter, Jana Bezuidenhout. The baby girl was born in 2019. The two of them already share a 5-year-old boy named Elliot Rush. "The only thing we are on Earth for is to reproduce," Errol stated when confirming the news.
