On Tuesday, an attempted carjacking turned deadly for the assailant. A 29-year-old man approached a 21-year-old man around the 8300 block of Park Place Boulevard at about 5:30 in the afternoon. He was threatening violence and wanted the keys to the car. Instead, the man in the car pulled out a gun and fired off several shots. He then exited the vehicle to call the police. Despite all the drama from recent cases, American voters still hold favorable views toward the Supreme Court. But if you specifically ask Democratic voters their opinion of the high court, you'll get a pretty dark answer. Democratic voters mostly disapprove of the Supreme Court, especially after its recent decisions on abortion and Second Amendment issues. Many left-leaning voters are open to the idea of scrapping the Supreme Court entirely and replacing it with elected justices. I don't have to tell you why that's a horrible idea. Our Founding Fathers knew that having an elected judicial branch would allow a simple majority of voters to change our system of government fundamentally. If conservatives proposed the same idea, liberals would accuse us of insurrection and treason. (read more) |

Despite the tech selloff hammering her flagship ARK Innovation ETF, investors seem to be steadfast in their conviction that Cathie Wood of ARK Investment Management can generate long-term returns. In the first half of 2022, although her ARK ETF plummeted about 70% from its peak, investors pledged $1.5 billion to the fund. Cassidy Casale and Eton Marritt, from Ontario, Canada, bought their new home back in March with plans to renovate it. However, when that moment came a month later, they were shocked at what they found underneath the house. While working on the electrical wiring under the house, they discovered several "oddly large" and "questionable" bones along with newspapers dating back to the 1960s. "Finding the bones was a huge shock to us and had us worried for a while," Cassidy stated. The couple left the bones where they found them, allowing an investigation to take place.
