Blue-chip stocks are securities issued by significant corporations with a solid track record of generating value for their owners. In addition, blue-chip companies are often well-run, financially sound businesses that have been operating for many years and have produced tangible earnings results. Actor Tom Hanks was enjoying a night out on the town with his wife Rita Wilson on Wednesday when they were suddenly mobbed by a crowd of people outside of a New York restaurant. Video of the encounter shows the couple calmly walking towards their car as they were rushed by fans to take pictures. That was when one fan got too close and nearly knocked Wilson over. She shrieked and Hanks stepped in to make sure she was okay before turning to the crowd and holding his hands in the air. "Back the f**k off…knocking over my wife," Hank demanded.
