It's no secret that former Vice President Mike Pence has some presidential dreams of his own. There are already rumors that he's pondering a run in the 2024 election.
Which explains this strange balancing act he's trying to pull off where he both befriends and condemns Donald Trump whenever he's given a microphone.
"Jan. 6 was a tragic day, and I know we did our duty, but I will always be proud of our record," Pence told Fox News. "And I am not going to allow the Democrats to use that tragic day to distract attention from their failed agenda or to demean the intentions of 74 million Americans who rallied behind our cause."
He also admitted that he, too, had some concerns about election irregularities.
He also explained why he ultimately back down from them and how things stand between himself and the former president.
He stopped short of saying whether he will or won't run for president in 2024, but my biggest takeaway from his interview with Fox News is that he's determined to not only have his cake and eat it, too.
But will GOP voters stomach it?
