Starting late last year, the Eurpoean Space Agency started to notice something alarming. Satellites in their Swarm constellation were starting to sink, and at a much rapid rate than they'd ever seen before. "In the last five, six years, the satellites were sinking about two and a half kilometers [1.5 miles] a year," Anja Stromme, ESA's Swarm mission manager, explained to Space.com. "But since December last year, they have been virtually diving. The sink rate between December and April has been 20 kilometers [12 miles] per year." The thought of relaxing while generating passive income appeals to many people. And if that is your objective, getting involved with REITs could be beneficial. REITs, which stand for real estate investment trusts, make money by owning and managing various assets. The fact that REITs provide two opportunities for wealth growth makes them excellent investments. First, REIT shares can increase in value over time just like normal equities can. If you keep yours for long, their worth can significantly rise. Second, REITs must distribute at least 90% of their taxable revenue to shareholders in the form of dividends. They frequently pay higher dividends than the ordinary stock as a result. Additionally, those dividend payments could generate a pleasant source of passive income. (read more) | |
