We're just halfway through the year 2022. But in these five cities, homicides have already surpassed 2021 levels.
This trend started in 2020, but since then, things have only gotten worse.
And if you look at the numbers, Milwaukee is by far the worst. As of June 17, the city has seen 96 homicides. That's compared to the 77 they'd seen this time a year ago. That translates into a 24.7% spike.
So, what are the other four cities, and can you notice the one thing they all seem to have in common?
The Republican Senate was forewarned by President Trump that their actions and backing of the Democrats' gun legislation would come back to bite them.
The 80-page gun restriction bill was approved by 14 Republican senators. And Trump criticized them for working with Democrats to enact the legislation.
Trump claims that this bill is the first step in Democrats' efforts to deny law-abiding individuals access to firearms.
Trump specifically mentioned Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn in his remarks.

In light of this, let's take a deeper look at three potential tech names that might make you as wealthy as you want to be by the time you retire.
73-year-old Kerry Endsley has been charged with kidnapping and menacing after the stunt he pulled on Friday June 17. Colorado sheriff's officials reported that Endsley abducted a couple who were hiking in Jefferson County at gunpoint.
Endsley then placed a nylon "leash" onto the woman's neck and ordered her to get on the ground. He then tried to load the couple away, but the man was able to wrestle his handgun away.
A hiker who saw the incident called 911 at 8:10 a.m. After the couple managed to run away from Endsley, they encountered deputies who were responding to the call. They said Endsley had appeared to be tying his shoes on the trail when he confronted them with the gun and took them captive.
Endsley pulled a stun gun out of his waistband and pointed it at deputies when they discovered him. Here's what happened next during the standoff.
