Thousands of students held walkouts throughout the country on Thursday to demand stricter gun control in the aftermath of the Texas school tragedy, which claimed the lives of 19 students and two instructors. Beginning at 12 p.m. ET, waves of students (some dressed in orange, the color of the anti-gun violence movement) left their schools. They marched outside to protest, many followed by their professors and accompanied by their parents. The nationwide protests were organized by a group called Students Demand Action, which is affiliated with the pro-gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety. (read more) |

It's safe to say that former President Trump probably wasn't thrilled with how everything went down in Georgia this week. While I'm sure he's thrilled that Herschel Walker is projected to win the Republican nomination for a Senate seat, his picks for Governor and Secretary of State didn't fare so well. Incumbent Governor Brian Kemp won by a large margin, and U.S. Rep. Jody Hice was unable to beat Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. But there were a lot more than three races to be won, and there were other states than Georgia that were voting. Take a look at the full lineup of winners and losers in this week's elections in Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas. (read more) |

Just one day after a teen fatally murdered 21 people at a Texas elementary school, Vice President Joe Biden issued an executive order to reform police. The horrific mass massacre was politicized by Biden, who used it as an opportunity to attack the Second Amendment. "The Second Amendment is not absolute. When it was passed, you couldn't own a cannon…there's always been limitations," Biden said. But that assertion has been debunked countless times. And it should worry people that our president takes our rights so lightly. Even more concerning is how easily our leaders in Washington are politicizing another tragedy. (read more) |

The popularity of stock splits has grown over the last several years. And there are a number of reasons that the strategy is attractive. It can be a great way to take a stock that's "too expensive" and make it affordable for more buyers to get into it. While stock splits don't impact a company's market capitalization, it does drop the value of an individual share and make it easier for the price to multiply once again. And multiply an investor's gains at the same time. Here are three impending stock splits that every investor should have on their radar. (read more) |

Another former pro athlete is making headlines for getting into an airline-related fight. And no, it was not Mike Tyson again. Brendan Langley, a former National Football League (NFL) star, was arrested last week after reportedly getting into a brawl with a United Airlines employee at Newark Liberty International Airport. The former Denver Broncos star was caught on video getting into an intense physical altercation with the airport employee. Both were fighting with each other when the employee decided to slap Langley. The NFL star quickly slapped the employee back, but Langley then decided to throw a series of punches at the employee. So, how did the altercation end? And what started it in the first place? (read more) |

Former British spy Christopher Steele relayed some interesting information in an interview with a talk radio show on Wednesday. "Our understanding is that there's increasing disarray in the Kremlin and chaos," Steele stated. Steele worked for many years in Russia, including heading up the spy agency's Russia desk for three years. While he doesn't cite his sources, he said he was fairly confident of his claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin's grip on power is fading and that he has to take regular breaks for medical treatment. "There's no clear political leadership coming from Putin, who is increasingly ill, and in military terms, the structures of command and so on are not functioning as they should," said Steele. He added that Putin is constantly accompanied by a team of doctors. Rumors about Putin's declining health have been circulating for several months. Recently Ukraine's head of military intelligence said that Putin was "very sick" while suggesting a coup was underway. There was also an in-depth investigation by an independent Russian outlet that revealed some interesting information. (read more) |
