American Eagle was the latest retailer to report disappointing fourth-quarter sales due to supply chain disruptions and the Omicron surge. The latest in a string of experimental marketing campaigns, Bottega Veneta is staging a takeover on the Great Wall of China. If the current real estate slump in China turns into a full-blown crisis, it could dampen consumer appetite for fashion and luxury goods in some quarters.
