Democrats failed to change Senate rules Wednesday night to pass elections and voting reform.
In a 48-52 vote, the Senate rejected an effort that would have reinstated the talking filibuster to pass the legislation by a simple majority vote following a lengthy debate
.As expected, Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona joined every Republican to defeat the measure. See here for complete coverage.
