I was born in New York, but I spent three years in Los Angeles — until I decided to come back to the best city in the US. I spend most of my time watching TV, movies, hanging out with family, friends, and (*you guessed it*) shopping online. I've been on the team for about a year and I can't tell you how many useful products I've found and bought while looking for things to include in my articles. This holiday season, I found and bought even more practical tools, stylish clothes, affordable makeup dupes, and useless gadgets that are worth every penny because they put a smile on my face.  Image: Chantel Turner I originally purchased this so I could compare it to Clinique's Black Honey and I ended up falling in love with it! *Here* is my official review: "This is a hydrating lipstick. If you suffer from dry, chapped lips, you'll appreciate that it has an adorable translucent heart-shaped middle that's packed with vitamin e. It will give you high-shine and great color payoff and, despite having two-toned lips, the color deposited evenly."  Image: Chantel Turner This is the best straightening product I've ever tried. It has always been impossible for me to straighten my curly roots with a traditional blow dryer, so I always had to flat iron my hair afterwards. I have naturally curly hair so all that heat has resulted in a lot of damage. With this product, I don't have to do that anymore. My hair is straight from my roots to my ends after using this. I also love that I can't feel the heat on my scalp at all! I have thick 3c hair and doing my entire head takes about 10–15 minutes. The device can take a little getting used to but MyRevAir and YouTube have tons of helpful tutorial featuring people with all different hair textures and types successfully using the dryer. (Psst...You can also use this to instantly dry dreads, braid-outs, twist-outs, or stretch your natural hair in minutes!).  Image: Chantel Turner TBH, working from home has made me a bookworm and a couch potato. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful, but being cooped up in my home all day made me feel *blah*. I made it my mission to use my weekends and after-work hours to try out new things from The Adventure Challenge. The book has 50 activities which you'll need to scratch off using a coin. You can complete them at any time and don't have to go in order. Some of them you can do in your home but most of them will be outdoor activities. I used the Solo edition but they also have one for couples, best friends, and families. I haven't scratched off all of them yet but it has helped me maintain my sanity and stay active.  Image: Chantel Turner I own a few of these amazing caps and they've has changed my life. My scarf never stayed on my head throughout the night so I always experienced frizz in the morning. I adjust this cap with the hidden drawstrings and haven't had that problem since I started using it. The cap is also perfect for rainy, windy, or humid days. A traditional hat without the satin/silk allows the humidity to seep under and cause major frizz or leave me with the dreaded 'hat hair.' With the Grace Eleyae cap, I can style my hair before placing the cap on and when I get to my destination and take it off, it looks exactly as I styled it.
