Republican and Democratic senators resolved a dispute over the Federal Reserve's emergency lending powers, according to congressional aides — a significant breakthrough after a series of weekend negotiations on a broader coronavirus relief package.
Senators were at odds over an effort led by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to curb the Federal Reserve's ability to provide emergency loans to businesses and states and cities. But late Saturday night, Toomey and top Democrats had reached an agreement to break the logjam, according to aides from both parties.
